Features of BMW i8 M

The BMW i8 M has no future. Instead, the German automaker will move forward with its Vision M Next concept, which will enter production within the next three years. It will be a hybrid sports car that performs like an M car, which is a bold aspiration. This means the i8, one of BMW’s most radical designs to enter production, will fade away. There won’t be a BMW i8 M, which delivers the performance its design deserves. But thanks to a new rendering from Cars Lifestyle.

The new rendering takes on the already attractive i8 styling and is enough to remind us that this car will never happen. Black exterior paint and black grille paired with lower suspension give the coupe a totally menacing look with little consideration for scaring children. The lower fascia is much more aggressive than what’s currently on offer. Then again, an M car needs coolness, not fuel efficiency. The hood also features an intake, which the regular i8 lacks.

With the BMW i8 destined for the dustbin, we expect BMW’s next hybrid sports car to be bold in the design department. In 2019, the German automaker impressed with its Vision Efficient Dynamics concept for its radical design. Two years later, BMW followed it up with the i8 Concept, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that retained much of the futuristic look of the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept. After a brief appearance in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol it wasn’t until 2014, when the production version hit the market with much of the concept’s original design intact.
